On this Guayaquil - Cuenca via El Cajas Tour & Transfer you’ll see the lush vegetation of the Ecuadorian coast with its banana and cocao plantations. You’ll climb up into the mountains and visit Cajas National Park, where you’ll find glacial lakes and a majestic old forest where you can go on hikes and explore the beautiful scenery of the Andes Mountains.

This tour also includes a visit to Tres Cruces, a unique lake situated on the continental divide and the only one of its kind in the country, where you can hike to see the local plant and animal life.

Lunch will be served at one of the cosiest haciendas in the Area called 2 Chorreras. You will be able to enjoy a nice traditional meal surrounded by the Paramo Vegetation of the National Park.

You will arrive in Cuenca and stay 2 nights at hotel Oro Verde incl Breakfast and local taxes.

Set off from Cuenca to travel along the Pan American highway. On the way you’ll get the chance to visit various points of interest such as a Cañari indigenous market (on Sundays), the beautiful church of Biblián or even a local artisan who weaves hats and other objects out of toquilla straw, before touring Ingapirca, the most important Inca ruins in Ecuador, and finishing up with lunch at Posada Ingapirca.

HALF DAY CITY TOUR OF CUENCA

Cuenca was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. It is the third largest city in the country and is referred to as “the Athens of Ecuador” for its many contributions to the field of literature. The city is located in the southern part of the country and is crossed by four rivers which give it a unique landscape.

The historic centre is the most visited site in the city because it dates from the 16th century. The architecture is an eclectic mix of European styles, mainly Spanish and French. Stroll through the cobblestone streets to visit the various squares housing churches, flower markets, and Panama hat makers! After lunch you will have time to explore the city on your own and then we will take you back to Guayaquil.
