Day 1 - Lima

Upon your arrival in Lima, you will be met by your transfer-man who will assist you with your luggage and check-in procedures at your hotel. You will receive a contact information sheet with all the hotel’s information as well as our office's contact information for each city and the 24-hour emergency numbers for any further assistance you may require.

Day 2 - Lima

Full day Gastronomy tour in Lima and City tour of Lima Colonial & Modern (Private)

This morning you will be part of a Gastronomy experience. Enjoy a gastronomic space of participative cuisine where you will learn how to cook in a simple way in a Social environment and fun the different dishes of Peruvian gastronomy. After cooking you will go to the table to eat what you have prepared. At that point, you will mix the experience of a class with restaurant service. Special emphasis will be placed on the history of Peruvian gastronomy, and the influence of other kitchens and how we have come to have one of the most important dishes in the world. Topics will be played while the lessons such as Historical, social and cultural factors that will make the experience not only Focused on cooking, but also in Peruvian culture. Services include: Pisco Sour and Chilcano lessons, Cooking lessons where you will learn to prepare traditional cebiche, pulled salmon with ponzu sauce, Duo of causes (limeña and langostinos) and lomo saltado. In addition, you will taste a delicious dessert at the end of the meals. At the end of the lessons you will receive as souvenir’s, apron, receipt with the ingredients of the dishes you have prepared, Wines, beer and soft drinks included. A culinary souvenir which could be, for example, a bottle of oil Extra virgin organic olive, Peruvian Premium chocolates or high-end Peruvian coffee. In the afternoon, in a half day tour, you will visit the town of Lima, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Visit the Cathedral of Lima Visit the Cathedral, where the tour guide will show you the Sacristy, the impressive choir seating, the side chapels and the tomb of Lima's founder, Francisco Pizarro. Walk through the Main Square, seeing important buildings as the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace. Following after, visit the San Francisco Convent with its catacombs. Then you will be transferred to the districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, two old neighborhoods full of history that have been become exclusive urban areas due to their important commercial, financial and tourist locations. Finally visit the "Parque del Amor" (Love Park), nestled in the cliffs of Miraflores which boasts a spectacular view of the bay of Lima and where paragliders from around the world gather over the area. After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 3 - Lima / Trujillo

At the appropriate time, you will be met by your transfer-man who will assist you with your flight to Trujillo.

ARRIVAL TRUJILLO AND TRANSFER (PRIVATE)

Pick up from the airport, upon arrival our representative will welcome you and transfer yo to your hotel in private transport. Arrival at the hotel.

PM: HALF DAY HUACAS MOON AND SUN WITH LUNCH (PRIVATE)

Transfer to the Fiesta Gourmet Restaurant in Trujillo, where you will enjoy an excellent Creole lunch.

Transfer to the site museum "Huacas de Moche" where you can appreciate the iconography of this culture, as well as the internationally recognized ceramics called huaco portraits, or gold and silver figures, ritual scenes, battles between warriors, where defeated were taken to the temple to be sacrificed and obtain their blood, symbol of fertility and renewal of their power; presenting offerings to his divinity Ai APaec or God deglaver.

Continue the tour visiting the Huacas del Sol and the Luna complex, which includes two large truncated pyramids, in a landscape characterized by the imposing Cerro Blanco. Both huacas were the center of power of the ancient Mochica people, which developed between 100 and 900 AD. Nowadays, in the middle of these two pyramids, the urban nucleus is still conserved, composed of large avenues, houses, alleys, squares and corridors. Return to the hotel.

Day 4 - Trujillo

FULL DAY CITY TOUR OF TRUJILLO, HUANCHACO HARBOR AND CHAN CHAN (PRIVATE)

We begin the tour visiting the historic center of Trujillo "City of eternal spring", to appreciate the Plaza de armas which houses the monument of Liberty.

We visite two colonial mansions (Urquiaga House and emancipation) to appreciate pieces of great value of the Pre - Inca times, colonial of our history, collection of ceramics and crockery of the republican era and the wonderful collection of coins with which our country has counted.

Move to the Museum of Anthropology and Archeology of the National University of Trujillo, which shows the development of the historical process on the north coast and particularly in the coastal valleys of the department of La Libertad, since the arrival of the first inhabitants, some 12,000 years, until the arrival of the European conquerors in 1532. Inside, it houses a large number of ceramics, objects carved from wood and metals such as copper, gold and silver, as well as mummies.

Transfer to Huaca El Dragón, archaeological site belonging to the Chimú culture. This temple is surrounded by a wall whose decoration was dedicated to the Rainbow as a symbol of fertility. Transfer to Balneario de Huanchaco, a place where the Mochicas gave rise to ceviche, a dish of Peruvian cuisine of international recognition; cove of artisan fishermen, where you can still appreciate the use of the ancestral boats known as caballitos de totora. This day we will enjoy a master class and will learnt to prepare ceviche and pisco sour by a locally recognized chef. We continue the tour visiting Chan Chan, known as Nik-An Palace, political and administrative capital of the Chimu Kingdom. Its original extension was more than 20 Km2; currently covers only 14 km2, being considered as "The Longest City of Mud in the World". On November 28, 1986, UNESCO declared Chan Chan Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Return to the hotel. After resting at the Hotel we will move you to the Casona Estete Restaurant to enjoy an exquisite dinner.

Day 5 - Trujillo

FULL DAY GASTRONOMY NORTHERN EXPERIENCE (PRIVATE)

Today we will enjoy a full day gastronomy experience in Trujillo and will discover the origins of our traditional flag dishes, which most of them belongs to the Northern site of Peru. On this tour you will taste, learn and unveil the best gastronomic secrets. You will visit the following restaurants:

- The Batán Mochero and learn to prepare the Shambar and Theologian soup

- El Mococho: learn the secrets of the Tiradito y Chita frita

- Big Ben: Master class from Tiradito to escabeche and Chilcano from Pisco

- Doña Carmen: typical desserts

After this excursion, return to your hotel. Accommodation at Libertador Trujillo hotel. Breakfast and lunch are included for this day. (B/L/-)

Day 6 - Trujillo / Lima

At the appropriate time, transfer to Trujillo airport to take your domestic flight back to Lima.

Day 7 - Lima / Arequipa

At the appropriate time, you will be met by your transfer-man who will assist you with your flight to Arequipa.

TRANSFER AREQUIPA AIRPORT – HOTEL (WITH GUIDE)

Upon arrival into Arequipa International Airport, you will be met by our representative and private driver and will be transferred to your hotel. Our representative will assist you with check-in procedures.

PM HALF DAY AREQUIPA CITY TOUR & SANTA CATALINA CONVENT (PRIVATE)

Today, enjoy a city tour of Arequipa visiting the Carmen Alto, lookout in Cayma, from here you will enjoy the spectacular views of the city’s three surrounding volcanoes: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. Continue your way to the countryside of Arequipa, to admire the attractive natural scenery that surrounds the city; including by Inca terraces still used by locals for crop cultivation. As we continue the excursion, visit Yanahuara Lookout, to admire the magnificent views of Misti, and the opportunity to visit the famous temple and see colonial houses of this district. Follow the excursion towards Arequipa Main Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Peru, and the Cathedral, a prime example of 19th-century Peruvian architecture, housing beautiful treasures in gold and silver. Continue with La Compañia Church, an ancient Jesuit temple, maybe the most important one in Arequipa due to its history and tradition. Then, visit the Santa Catalina Convent a "Small Town" built in the XVIIth Century and opened to the public in 1970, after 400 years as a cloister. Perfectly preserved for four centuries, you go back in time as you enter the cloister and see the numerous, spacious patios and gardens, the kitchen and slave quarters and stone washtubs. About 20 nuns, of what were once 500, still live in a section of this Convent. Return to your hotel. At night, transfer to Zig Zag restaurant to taste local food.

Day 8 - Arequipa

AM HALF DAY VISIT TO SAN CAMILO MARKET & COOKING LESSONS (PRIVATE)

10:00 Visit to the main market in Arequipa “San Camilo”, designed by the famous engineer Gustavo Eiffel. Get in contact with locals and mix with the colors and fragrances of the variety of fruits, vegetables, tubercles of the region. On the fringes of the market, find the witchcraft section — herbal remedies, mysterious powders, and talismans. Continue walking to the Peruvian Cooking Experience. Feel invited to a two hours, "HANDS ON", fun, cooking activity. Prepare famous Peruvian Recipes and enjoy eating them after. The Cooking Experience takes place at an open kitchen with view to the garden! No EXPERIENCE needed. You will also have the opportunity to prepare a Pisco Sour. Andean Menu: Soltero de Queso, veggie and cheese salad, Rocoto Relleno, Stuffed hot pepper, Pastel de papa, Potato cake, Flan de Quinoa, Quinoa dessert. Your lunch will be the same food you have prepared. After this excursion, return to your hotel.

Balance of the afternoon, free for passengers own activities.

At the convenient time, at night, transfer to Chicha restaurant for Dinner, Chicha is about regional food: the produce, traditions and culture from each location elevated with good culinary techniques and, responsible and local producers. In a local established in the stunning Casona de Santa Catalina, built in the seventeenth century, just a few steps from the convent of the same name and the Plaza de Armas, Chicha recognizes and promotes the value of Arequipa flavors and culinary wisdom. After dinner, return to your hotel.

Day 9 - Arequipa / Colca

2 DAYS/1NIGHT PROGRAM AREQUIPA / COLCA INCL. LUNCH & EN ROUTE STOPS (PRIVATE)

Early in the morning, depart on a wonderful four-hour journey to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world (3,400 meters above sea level). On the trip, we drive across Pampa Cañahuas in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, inhabited by herds of Vicuñas and Alpacas (South American camels), and from where you will see the other faces of Arequipa’s volcanoes Misti and Chachani. Drive across various lakes, beautiful landscapes, related to this ecosystem. A gratifying stop will make you taste a “Coca Tea” in a rustic restaurant on the road. As we continue, reach the highest point of the journey, to observe many volcanoes which are the source of the Amazon River. On your arrival to Chivay town, lunch is included. If energy is still good, you might take a short walk around the town before being transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Colca Valley.

Day 10 - Colca / Arequipa / Lima

AM: VISIT THE CONDOR CROSS INCLUDING EN ROUTE STOPS (PRIVATE)

Very early in the morning, you will be driven to the observation point “Cruz del Condor”. While this is not the deepest point of the Colca Canyon, from “Cruz del Condor” you can appreciate the grandeur of the canyon and with a bit of luck, you might spot Andean condors, the largest flying bird in the world, soaring across the high plain. On the way back, visit traditional villages with ancient terraces constructed by the Collaguas, a pre-Inka culture. As you continue the route, stroll around the towns of Maca at the base of the volcano Sabancaya and then Yanque. The church of Yanque, with its baroque façade, is a testimony to the cultural symbiosis in the colonial era. Transfer back to Chivay town for lunch. On the journey back to Arequipa, pass through lookouts and villages, driving across Pampa Cañahuas in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, inhabited by herds of Vicuñas and Alpacas (South American camelids). Following these magnificent sites, we arrive at the city of Arequipa and direct transfer to Arequipa airport to take your flight back to Lima. Arrival at Lima airport, and assistance with your international connection flight with your next destination.
